SCUAA 2011 Kicks Off in UA Freedom Grandstand
The 2011 State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Meet officially kicks off in the afternoon of December 18 at the sunstruck UA Freedom Grandstand.
Around 2,800 athletes, coaches and sports officials from 11 state colleges and universities in Western Visayas are participating in the 6-day competition hosted by the University of Antique.
Dr. Benny A. Palma, Chairman of PASUC VI, formally welcomed the participants who are competing in 16 different sports events such as basketball, baseball, chess, football, athletics, swimming, badminton, sepak takraw, taekwondo, volleyball, and table tennis.
In addition, the evening highlights like the Search for Mr. & Miss SCUAA 2011 and Dancesports Competition will be held respectively on December 20 and 21 at the UA Gymnasium.
The participating state colleges and universities are Aklan State University(ASU), Capiz State University(CAPSU), Guimaras State College(GSC), Iloilo State College of Fisheries(ISCOF), Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College(NIPSC), Western Visayas State College of Science and Technology(WVCST), West Visayas State University (WVSU), Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC), Negros State College of Agriculture (NESCA), Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology, and University of Antique.
