Senate President Pro Tempore, Senator Loren B. Legarda together with Department of Information and Communications Technology Undersecretaries Usec. Jeffrey Ian C. Dy and Usec. Paul Joseph Mercado, and Congressman Antonio Agapito “AA” Legarda inaugurate Projects in University of Antique and the 450 Wi-Fi sites in 150 locations, at Paghiusa Hall today, March 16.

The salient and the new projects in the University which are funded through the support of Sen. Legarda and Cong. AA were laid down by Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., who also acknowledged how their programs changed the lives of many Antiqueños.

On her message, Sen. Legarda assured that the free Wi-Fi project will extend to other geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, Department of Education Schools, Rural Health Units, Tribal Centers, and to the province’s indigenous people. She also promised assistance for students who are not covered by the 30 million worth of Tulong-Dunong scholarship.

Moreover, 15 IP and PWD scholars represented the 2,589 scholars from UA Main Campus in the symbolic distribution of Tulong-Dunong Grants.

The program was graced by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, Mayors, Guests from the Department of Education, and representatives from the 150 Wi-Fi locations beneficiaries.

The Province of Antique currently holds the record of having the greatest number of Wi-Fi sites in the country and the whole UA system is one of its beneficiaries.
