Daisy Mae C. Bernesto hooked the first Gold for University of Antique as she clinched the leading jump with the distance of 5.37m. at Panaad Park and Stadium, Bacolod City, today, September 11.

Emerging on top of 18 other contenders, the 20 years old Bachelor of Physical Education Student stated that her hard-earned podium finish is a manifestation of the hard work and training that she undergone through the past few weeks.

“Grabe nga kasadya kay syempre sa karaku ka iba nga team or sports nga pwede kabuol ka una nga gold, ako gid ang nakabuol ka first para sa UA,” Bernesto added when asked about what she feels upon clinching the first gold.

On the other hand Erwina Marcelino nabbed the silver medal on the 5000m. run against representatives from 12 other contending State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).

The medalists also extended their gratitude to God, their coaches, family, team, friends, and their massive support system.
