UA SUCCESSFULLY WRAPS UP WOMEN’S MONTH CELEBRATION 2022

University of Antique (UA) successfully wrapped up this year’s Women’s Month Celebration.
Every year UA joins the international celebration to continually support, inspire, and empower all women to be active contributors in our society.

The Gender and Development Office prepared various activities such as Zumba Fitness, Bilao Painting, Binalaybay, Komposo, Song writing and Tiktok Challenge. These activities endeavor to highlight the Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.

Prof. Carolyn May Deslate on her Juana talk about the benefits of women in leadership said that, “the most meaningful leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact last in your absence, that means leaders become great not because of their power but because of their ability to empower others.” She also quoted that “the leader doesn’t create followers they create more leaders.”

The celebration ended with a virtual conversation on Women’s Health Concern and Issues particularly on Breast Surgeries and on how to reduce breast cancer risk as well as preventions which was discussed by Dr. Anna Marie Eugenie Bravo Melgar. The virtual session also included the talk of Dr. Adeline Rose Escartin which centered on the screening and prevention of gynecological diseases.
