Congratulations University of Antique for clinching the prestigious 2024 Silver Award from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) during the ITSO Presidents’ Summit and General Assembly held at Sequoia Hotel Manila Bay, Parañaque City, today, April 10, 2025.

Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, Vice-president for Research, Extension, and Innovation (REI), personally received the award that serves as a manifestation of the academe’s unrelenting dedication to intellectual property advancement as well as research and innovation.

According Dr. Debbie Jean V. Sabug-Riego, Innovation Promotion Unit (IPU) Director, UA garnered the award for meeting the requirements to conduct at least 12 IP Foundation Courses and/or other IP-related activities, at least 2 Patent Search Trainings, at least 1 Patent Drafting Training, filed at least 5 (Industrial Design) ID and at least 5 Utility Model (UM) applications; or at least 2 Patent applications, and provided at least 24 patent search services.

This year’s summit has the theme “Empowering ITSOs towards Global Recognition of Innovation Breakthroughs,” which aims to gather the academes’ leaders, ITSO members and representatives, to recognize their feats as IPOPHL’s partners.
