
Representatives from various colleges of the University including the Hamtic Campus convened at Paghi-UsA Hall of the Main Campus to know better UA’s Balik Scientist, Dr. Gerard G. Dumancas, today, May 23, 2025.
On his message, Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., UA President, expressed his gratitude, noting that Dr. Dumancas’ decision to accept UA’s invitation to join as a Balik Scientist is a significant asset to the university.
“More than expertise, advising, and knowledge, the inspiration that you’ll bring to the students, is the most valuable thing that you could impart,” he further stated.
Dr. Dumancas shared his inspiring journey from venturing to study abroad into becoming a Professor and Associate Dean at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, highlighting the importance of determination, grit, adaptability, and resilience.
He also gave an inspiration to students and faculty researchers, saying, “If I can do it, you can also do it. So don’t put yourself in situation like you’re just depending on that one paper. It’s not that difficult if you put your heart into it. Don’t be intimidated by research, it’s actually fun because you are being creative.”
Engr. Eleazar Salvador Moscoso, Head of the Department of Science and Technology- Field Office Antique, together with the members of the Executive Committee of UA were also present in the program which was organized by the RC-CATL Team headed by Asst. Prof. Jessebel Gadot, IRC Director and CATL Laboratory Officer.
