Members and officers of the Confederation of Administrative Personnel in the University of Antique (CAPUA) gathered for a two-day General Assembly and Teambuilding, at Jamins Hotel and Resort, Ibajay, Aklan, May 29-30.
Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., UA President, on his message, emphasized the importance of their love for UA, noting that while skills, abilities, and competencies can be learned, but the attitude, their willingness to work, and their love for the academe are among the most important components of their job.
He also reminded the participants of the importance of balancing work and personal life, saying, “Remember work is important, but family, your children, your loved ones, your interest and hobbies are equally important also.”
The first day of the event featured a Talk on Basic Life Support (BLS) including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the Heimlich maneuver, and the usage of Automated External Defibrillator (AED), with Mr. Aljim Millamena, Nurse II, that ensures that employees can act swiftly and effectively in the event of a medical emergency, significantly reducing response time and potentially saving life.
Dr. Ronilo Soriano, former Vice President for Admin and Finance of UA, also shared his expertise through a talk on Work-life Balance, educating employees of the importance of managing their professional responsibilities while maintaining a healthy personal life, ultimately improving their mental health, job satisfaction, and productivity.
Today’s session, that ended with the initiation of the new members and the re-election of officers, will continue tomorrow with the actual hands-on activity on BLS and teambuilding activities.
