Bringing the space information closer to the Antiqueños, the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) in partnership with the University of Antique holds PINAS, Phil Space Agency (PhilSA) Integrated Network for Space-Enabled Actions towards Sustainability Antique Workshop Program, from July 2- 4, 2025.

Senator Loren Legarda, in her message delivered by Hon. Antonio AA Legarda at the PINAS Project Symposium held at Paghi-UsA Hall today, emphasized the importance of powerful initiatives like PINAS as it democratizes powerful, once-distant technologies, bringing them closer to the communities that need them most.

“Today, through this workshop and through the forthcoming Memorandum of Agreement between UA and PhilSA, we are institutionalizing a long-term partnership in research, capacity development, and public education,” Sen. Legarda further stated as she encouraged the student attendees to seize the moment no matter what their courses are, as there is space for them in space.

The symposium gathered participants from the Local Government Units, National Government Agency, Provincial Satellite Offices, Civil Society Organizations, and members of the executive committee, faculty, and students from the various campuses of UA.

This three-day workshop was made possible through the collaboration between the PhilSA headed by Dr. Gay Jane Perez, Deputy Director General for Space Science and Technology, and UA through Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, Vice-President for Research, Extension, and Innovation.
