“Every success story begins with a teacher who believes.” – Dr. Catherine C. Viesca, Vice-president for Academic Affairs

The University of Antique community paid tribute to the Kasubay educators in celebration of the World Teachers’ Day through a program held at Tiripunan Hall today, October 6, 2025.

Organized by the Student Government (UASG), Future Leaders of the Philippines (FLP), and Faculty Association (UAFA), the program featured songs and games as well as tokens of appreciation for the teachers.

Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., UA President, on his message emphasized that the best teacher cares and acts like shepherd that continuously guides and makes the students feel welcome and accepted

He also reminded the students to honor and appreciate their teachers beyond this celebration saying, “Your teachers are not perfect just like your parents. But one thing is sure, just like your parents, your teachers love you though they will show that in different ways.”

Shanti Georgen Santolices, UASG President, also delivered a heartfelt message of gratitude on behalf of the thousands of students comprising the UA community.

As part of tribute for teachers, the UASG also partnered with the Human Resource Unit to offer free hand massages for the faculty which will be available at the Student Center throughout the day.
