The University of Antique (UA) proudly stood among the country’s distinguished higher education institutions selected to represent the Philippines at the British Council Going Global Conference 2025 in London, United Kingdom — a premier international platform that brings together academic leaders, policymakers, and education innovators to advance global partnerships and strengthen transnational education.

Representing the University are Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., University President; Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation; and Nicasio A. Pimentel III, Faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences.

The Philippine Delegation is also comprised of esteemed higher education leaders, including Dr. Ricmar Aquino, Commissioner, Commission on Higher Education (CHED); Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer, Director IV, CHED Regional Office I; Atty. Angelo Jimenez, President, University of the Philippines; Dr. Anthony Penaso, President, Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP); Dr. Milabel Ho, Executive Director, AACCUP; Dr. Ma. Jane Mascariñas, Dean, Bicol University; Gerald Magno, Head of Education, British Council Philippines; and Lotus Postrado, Country Director, British Council Philippines.

Held on October 27, 2025, the University of Antique delegation actively participated in a series of high-level wraparound meetings aimed at fostering international collaboration and institutional growth. These included:

*Times Higher Education (THE) – where discussions explored strategic collaborations in transnational education, consultancy services, and participation in global university rankings.

*University of Greenwich – focusing on potential partnerships for student mobility, scholarships, and joint degree programs.

*Education Insight (with Dr. Janet Ilieva) – examining emerging global trends and policies in internationalization and transnational education.

*UK Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) – deepening understanding of the UK’s data governance, quality assurance systems, and the Graduate Outcomes Survey methodology.

This international engagement marks a defining milestone in the University of Antique’s journey toward global competitiveness and institutional internationalization. By engaging with world-class education partners, UA continues to open doors for transformative learning opportunities, collaborative research, and innovative exchanges that will benefit its students, faculty, and the broader Antiqueño community.
