University of Antique, through its College of Computing and Information Sciences, sealed a partnership with Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMCST) through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing at Paghi-UsA Hall today, May 28, 2026.

The MOA was signed by Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation, and Dr. Catherine C. Viesca, Vice President for Academic Affairs, representing UA, together with Dr. Reynaldo E. Manuel Jr., CESO V, President of NMSCST.

The partnership strengthens collaboration between the two academic institutions in conducting collaborative research studies in the fields of Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, and other computer-related disciplines.

In her message delivered by Dr. Viesca, Dr. Godelyn S. Gallega-Hisole, UA President, recognized the capacity of research to transform lives and contribute to nation-building, as well as the vital role of partnerships in addressing educational challenges, expanding opportunities, and producing impactful scholarly works that benefit communities and the nation as a whole.

“Through this partnership, we renew our commitment to working together in advancing collaborative research, supporting the growth of our faculty and students, embracing innovation and technology, and developing programs that create lasting and meaningful impact for the communities we serve,” she further stated.

Dr. Manuel also shared how the institutions’ shared vision for technological advancement, academic excellence, and community transformation brings the two academes together, united by a common purpose despite the distance that separates Mindanao and Panay.

He further expressed his hope that, through this partnership, UA and NMCST will be at the forefront of societal progress through innovation, research, and collaborative initiatives.

Together with Dr. Manuel were Prof. Joseph Meynard Ogdol Dean, College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT); Dr. Paquito Fernando, Program Head, Bachelor of Animation and Multimedia Arts (BAMA); and Mr. Amythyst Talaba, Chief Administrative Officer of NMSCST.

Dr. Debbie Jean S. Riego, Director, Research Unit; Dr. John C. Amar, Dean of CCIS; together with the faculty, staff and students were also present during the MOA Signing.
