The University of Antique joined the maritime community in Western Visayas in celebrating the Day of the Filipino Seafarer 2026 at the John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University today, June 25.

Anchored on this year’s theme, “Carrying World Trade, Carrying the Risk,” the celebration honored the dedication, sacrifices, and invaluable contributions of Filipino seafarers to global trade while highlighting the challenges and risks they face at sea.

Representing the University of Antique were Prof. Marmon Pagunsan, Administrative Officer V, Quality Assurance Unit; Jason Fernando, staff of the Admission and Registrarship Unit; Engine Cadet Dante Panaguiton; and Deck Cadet Reynalyn Gelligao.
