
The Data Protection Unit (DPU) conducts a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), with representatives of various units in-charge of collecting and processing necessary information of the data subjects in the academe, at Balay ni Juan, November 21, 2025.
Mr. Juancho F. Jamile, Data Protection Officer, and Resource Speaker in the said program stated that PIA is UA’s way of advancing the use of collected information and ensuring that the data subjects’ fundamental human right of privacy of communication is protected as mandated by the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
The program featured discussions on the participation in a PIA, records of processing activities, data life cycle, and the PIA process. Participants also engaged in a workshop on PIA output and Record of Processing Activity (ROPA).
