The National Merchant Maritime Aptitude Test (NaMMAT) is now a mandatory requirement to all incoming first-year college students and graduating Senior High School students who intend to enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Maritime Engineering (BSMarE) or Bachelor of Science in Maritime Transportation (BSMT) program, as required by the Commission on Higher Education through CEB Resolution No. 543-2025.

NaMMAT is a standardized aptitude test used to assess the readiness of aspiring maritime students for seafaring and maritime college by measuring the prerequisite skills necessary for higher level coursework. The examination will evaluate both academic proficiency and essential seafaring aptitudes, ensuring that only qualified individuals enter the maritime profession

 

For Region VI, the identified testing sites and schedule of examination are as follows:
October 25, 2025 – St. Therese-MTC Colleges-Magdalo Site, Iloilo
October 26, 2025 – John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation – Bacolod City & Colegio De La Purisima Concepcion, Roxas City, Capiz
