Big Plans for UA

University of Antique is poised to expand its scope in the pursuit of making quality education accessible to Antiqueños as the plan to expand and create the regular campuses of the University and build a Sports Center facility is slowly coming into realization.

Hon. Antonio Legarda in his speech during the celebration of UA’s 69th Founding University stated that a sports facility will be built at the UA Main Campus in Sibalom. He announced, “this year 2023, we have allotted P 25M worth for a Sports Center facility that includes an olympic size swimming pool”.

Meanwhile, Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., University President, stated that Senator Loren Legarda introduced Senate Bill 899 that aims to expand and create the regular campuses of UA through turning its extension campuses— UA Libertad and UA Caluya into autonomous external campus, and opening two more campuses at Tobias Fornier and San Remigio.

External campuses are more advantageous as compared to extension campuses that remain under the main campus and have the possibility of facing closure. According to Dr. Crespo, the University’s external campuses will have autonomy as well as their own budget and staffing complement.

These plans for UA are anchored to the institution’s objective which is to provide state-of-the-art physical and instructional facilities to its students./IAP
