Barangay Information Officers (BIOs) from seven (7) municipalities in the Province of Antique convene at University of Antique Paghi-UsA Hall for the Barangay Information and Outreach Network (BION) Briefing organized by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), headed by Director General Catherine Chloe de Castro, and the Office of Senator Loren Legarda, today, November 20, 2025.

This briefing is PIA’s way of strengthening its grassroots communication strategy especially in its established BION in towns of Anini-y, Tobias Fornier, Hamtic, San Jose de Buenavista, San Remegio, Valderrama, and Sibalom.

Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., UA President, on his welcome message, recognized the importance of the role played by BIOs as frontline of truth.

“Kung magmarites man tayo, gawin nating mabuti at gawin natin sa tama. Huwag natin hayaan na ikalat ang mga fake news,” he further stated encouraging the BIOs to utilize the chatty nature of Filipinos for positive purposes.

Antique Lone District Representative Antonio “AA” Legarda and Antique Governor Paolo Everardo S. Javier also graced the program and welcomed the participants of the said event.
