The College of Business and Accountancy is under new management.

Dr. Loyalda T. Bolivar is the best example of a truly hardworking person who worked her way up to where she is now. She graduated from University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Community Development and Psychology and a Master of Management majoring in Rural Development Management. She then pursued her doctorate degree in Development Management at Central Philippine University (CPU).

Dr. Bolivar held several positions at the University of Antique before becoming the Director of External Affairs. She began her career as a Guidance Counselor III before becoming Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences for 11 years, from 2002 to 2013, where she was the youngest dean at the time. Following her deanship, she became the Director of the Extension Services Office as well as Program Head and faculty member at the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA). She was also the Bachelor of Science in Community Development program head before becoming the Director of External Affairs.

During her tenure as Dean, she was responsible for the creation of majority of the programs in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) such as Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Psychology, Political Science, and Language Studies in English. Then, during her directorship, she contributed to the RECETS Manual, which was approved by the board.

She is now Professor VI however, before she got there, she had to overcome many challenges. Dr. Bolivar expressed, “Human behavior in the organization—on how I can manage to balance those behaviors is for me to not be able to get affected as a person. Also, doing research work was a reason for me to become a professor, because doing those works made me a strong person, which I believe challenged me to become the best person I’m capable of becoming.”

Definitely, the College of Business and Accountancy will continue to spread its wings higher with the guidance of Dr. Bolivar./President’s Office
