DOST VI, Antique PSTO visit UA Caluya

The Department of Science and Technology Region VI (DOST VI) through Antique Provincial Science and Technology (PSTO) conducts a two-day site visit at University of Antique Caluya Extension Campus, May 8-9.

With PSTO Director, Engr. Eleazer Salvador T. Moscoso, leading the visit, the Seaweed Chips processing at UA Caluya Technohub was observed and the utilization of equipment funded under CEST Phase I and II project at Brgy. Imba and Sabang was monitored.

The site visit also ensured that fifty-five teachers from Caluya National High School were given an overview of the most recent version of STARBOOKS and orientation on how to use the program while 30 seaweed farmers of Brgy. Imba participated in a forum on DOST VI Programs and Projects, and technical trainings on Food Safety, Packaging and Labelling.

The visit was part of the DOST’s initiative in assessing the impact of S&T interventions provided to the province of Antique through the Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) Program, in exploring best practices, and capturing other needs of the beneficiaries.
