Deepening awareness and strengthening gender sensitivity and inclusivity in the province and the university, the Antique Provincial LGBTQIA++ Desk spearheaded the Isturya Duag 2025: A Health and Gender Sensitivity Forum, June 4, 2025 at Busalian Hall, Main Campus.

Invited representatives from the LGBTQIA+ Community coming from the different sectors of the province gathered for an in-depth talk about SOGIE or Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression, addressing pressing issues and misconceptions among members of the said community, policies, as well as health and medical support for PLHIV or People Living with HIV.

Atty. Elizabeth Abasquez-Felasol, Attorney IV, Legal Unit of the university, also served as one of the resource persons where she firmly stood with the adherence of UA to the existing laws governing the dynamic spectrum while stressing that UA has become more tolerant and loving with most of its students, faculty, and staff who are also members of the diverse community, and assured the participants of the ongoing efforts and crafting of policies that will be reflected on the university manuals.

Moreover, Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH), represented by Mr. Egbert Catabay, HIV/AIDS Case Manager, talked about the availability of medicines, testing kits, facilities, and the continued programs and campaigns helpful for breaking the stigma with PLHIV and further improving health and medical services of the province.
