The Integrated Research Center – Centralized Analytical Testing Laboratory (IRC-CATL), headed by Prof. Jessebel V. Gadot, Laboratory Officer, underwent two separate inspections by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), on May 2 and 7 respectively.

DDRO II Joy Anne Marcos, Compliance Sec., of PDEA Region VI, together with IO II Warren Das, and IO I Chris Ann Alinsoring of PDEA Antique, conducted the inspection of location, quantity, handling of chemical stocks especially for PDEA Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals, as part of the necessary requirements for CATL to obtain PDEA license.

A few days later, the Antique Provincial Police Office, through Police Lieutenant Colonel Stephen S. Somosot, and his team inspected the entrances and exits, laboratory units, chemical stockroom, and building perimeters of CATL and discussed the safety practices and recommendations.

The inspections aim to ensure safety and compliance of the CATL in its operations, to better serve clients within and outside the University. These will also pave the way for the laboratory to obtain the licenses needed for issuance of the ISO 17025 Certification.
