March 18 of every year is observed as the Victory Day or Liberation Day for Panay and Romblon, as per Proclamation No. 430, signed by President Corazon C. Aquino. This historic day marks the islands’ freedom from the Japanese Imperial Forces.

Today, as we commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the 1945 Victory Day, we honor our heroes especially the Filipino and American forces who fought valiantly for our island and country’s sovereignty. May their bravery, patriotism, and sacrifices continue to inspire generations to preserve and protect the freedom we enjoy today.
