Marcelino paves her way to NSCUAA with two silver medals

Tears rolled on her cheeks as Erwina Marcelino of University of Antique – Tario Lim Memorial Campus (UA-TLMC) ran her way in 3,000 and 5,000 meters, seizing silver medal in both categories during the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (RSCUAA) at Panaad Park and Stadium, September 11-12.

Marcelino finished her 3,000 meter run on the first day of the event emotionally because she dedicated her RSCUAA journey to her father, a sakada worker in Negros Occidental.

Moreover, her second silver medal in the 5,000 meter run was gained during the second day of the event allowing her to qualify in the national level.

“Nagapasalamat ako kay God nga gintugruan ako ka strength, ginbuligan ako, gintupad ang akun prayers nga himuon ang akun very best gid sa kadya”, said Marcelino.

Roadruns in Tibiao, Antique were her training foundation, sustained by one week of drill routines during her stay in UA-Main Campus played a huge part in her victory.

After securing two silver medals in athletics, Marcelino will contend in the upcoming National State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (NSCUAA) that will be held in Tarlac on October./ The Mentor – SD – IAP
