The Records Unit and Information and Communications Technology Unit (ICTU) conducted an Orientation and Training for the Pilot Run of the Document and Records Information Management System (DRIMS) with selected Unit Heads and Records Custodians today, June 15, 2026, at the bUsAli-an Hall and via the Zoom platform.
Records Officer III Joyce L. Grafane emphasized that efficient document management has become essential in ensuring institutional transparency, accountability, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance in today’s rapidly evolving administrative environment. She explained that the DRIMS is designed to digitalize and manage the university’s complete document and records lifecycle while strictly adhering to the rules and guidelines set by the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP).
During the session, ICTU Director Jacinto P. Valera provided an overview of DRIMS, highlighting how it eliminates delays associated with physical records and removes independent storage pathways that create security vulnerabilities. Valera described the system as a centralized engine for digital transformation that secures a single “source of truth” while standardizing the entire records lifecycle—from creation and authorization to digital filing and archiving—in compliance with ISO 9001 and the Data Privacy Act.
The training also featured discussion on Records Disposition Schedules with Perse O. Gadayan, Records Officer II, and Loren Joy Salvaleon, Records Officer I, and training on Account and Records Management with Alson S. Loquinario, Developer Administrator, Dan Bon Jovi R.L. Marañon, Systems Administrator, Carl Rex G. Esporsado, Web Administrator, and Alexandra Ashley A. Fernandez, Juniro Programmer. |IU-MAC Interns
