Donned in the traditional costumes of the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), students, faculty members, staff, and administrators of the University of Antique gathered at Tiripunan Hall today, August 3, to officially kick off the 2026 ASEAN Month Celebration.
The opening ceremony featured the ASEAN Fashion Show, where representatives from the different colleges of the Main Campus, including the Laboratory High School, showcased the rich cultural heritage and traditional attire of the ASEAN member states they represented: the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The celebration was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the International Affairs Unit, Cultural Unit, University of Antique Student Government, and the Future Leaders of the Philippines, underscoring the University’s commitment to fostering cultural appreciation, regional solidarity, and global awareness among the academic community.
