
University of Antique Instructor, Paterno Santillan, joins the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Seafarers Excellence Network (SEN) Seafarer Policy Conference at Wyndham Grand Busan, Republic of Korea, September 22-23, 2025.
The APEC SEN focuses on the impact of international maritime regulations on seafarers, promoting seafarer welfare, and developing policies for workforce sustainability. Through the conference, different key points were discussed including the improving maritime education, addressing mental health, advancing career development, and fostering a resilient maritime workforce across the APEC region.
Mr. Santillan is initially at South Korea for the 2025 ODA Train The Trainer (TTT) Program for Maritime Education Training (MET) Instructors hosted by Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT) that will end in October.
