“While the ‘WE’ in our theme stands for ‘Women’ and ‘Everyone,’ it also stands for the whole of government and the whole of society. As we kick off this month-long celebration, let us remember that gender equality is not a women’s issue – it is a human right, imperative and prerequisite for a truly inclusive society.” — Dr. Rowena S. Cabrillos, Director, Gender and Development
University of Antique, through the Gender and Development (GAD) Unit, began its month-long National Women’s Month celebration by looking back at how far the campaign has come since its implementation in 2023, today, March 9, 2026 at Paghi-UsA Hall, Main Campus.
Dr. Pablo S. Crespo, Jr., University President, expressed full support for GAD and UA’s initiatives, noting, “hindi lahat ng umaalis ay nang-iiwan,” as his term ends tomorrow, March 10.
The activity continued with the “One Billion Rising dance” led by the BPEd Dance Troupe, followed by student leaders presenting women-empowerment placards.
