The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) rolled out its Information Caravan on the Revised Implementing Guidelines of the Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and their Families (CoScho) at the Paghi-UsA Hall of the University of Antique today, June 16, 2026.
The caravan aims to intensify awareness and broaden educational and scholarship access for registered coconut farmers and their dependents, specifically targeting graduating Grade 12 learners and students currently enrolled in Higher Education Institutions.
University of Antique President Dr. Godelyn G. Hisole welcomed the participants, describing the COSCHO initiative as a transformative promise to provide the children of agricultural workers with equal opportunities for a dignified future.
The event also highlighted the tangible success of the initiative through the testimony of Andriele A. Andres, a COSCHO scholar alumnus who graduated Cum Laude and Class Valedictorian from the University of Antique – Hamtic Campus.
Andres, who received the COSCHO Academic Excellence Award, shared how the grant empowered his professional growth prior to passing the November 2025 Licensure Examination for Agriculturists, urging his fellow youth that, “May we always remember that just like coconut, true success is not only about standing tall, but also about giving life, sharing blessings, and serving others.”
The program was graced by representatives from Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) PMO Central Office, PCA Regional Office VI, Province of Antique, CHED Regional Office VI, CHED Central Office, UA, and the coconut farmers and their families who are the clientele of the CoScho program. | IU-MAC Interns
