
Two (2) Cadets from the College of Maritime Studies join the 2025 ODA Global Onboard Training Programme (GOBT) in Busan, Republic of Korea (ROK).
Engine Cadet Angelyn Paez and Deck Cadet Gesiel Belanizo together with the other 38 cadets (26 males and 12 females) from Philippines, Colombia, Fiji, Georgia, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Peru, Tanzania, Thailand, and Vietnam are set to undergo Basic Safety Training, Simulator Training, On-Board Training, Korean Culture Experiences, Korean Language Course, and Fieldtrip to Maritime Industry.
With all costs covered by ROK, the program, hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) and International Maritime Organization (IMO), and organized by Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT) seeks to provide maritime students with high-quality training and employment opportunities through essential education necessary for obtaining a marine engineer’s license.
The GOBT will run from September 18 to December 13, 2025.
