The University of Antique (UA), as part of the Philippine Delegation to the British Council’s Going Global Conference 2025, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Teodoro “Teddy Boy” Lopez Locsin Jr., Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom, at the Philippine Embassy in London.

The meeting served as an important platform to introduce the delegation and update the Embassy on the British Council’s ongoing work in the Philippines, particularly its initiatives in higher education, transnational partnerships, and global collaboration.

Representing the University of Antique were Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., University President; Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation; Nicasio A. Pimentel III and Ma. Salvacion G. Pimentel, faculty members of the College of Arts and Sciences.

They joined a distinguished group of higher education leaders and policy-makers from across the Philippines, including Dr. Ricmar Aquino, Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED); Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer, Director IV of CHED Regional Office I; Atty. Angelo Jimenez, President of the University of the Philippines; Dr. Agham Cuevas, Vice Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Los Baños; Dr. Anthony Penaso, President of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP); Dr. Milabel Ho, Executive Director of AACCUP; Dr. Ma. Jane Mascariñas, Dean of Bicol University; Gerald Magno, Head of Education at the British Council Philippines; and Lotus Postrado, Country Director of the British Council Philippines.

The engagement affirms the Philippines’ commitment to strengthening international cooperation in education and research — fostering meaningful partnerships that empower institutions like the University of Antique to make a global impact while advancing local innovation and community development.
