
Standing out as the sole representative from the Philippines, University of Antique (UA), through the Student Welfare Unit, achieved a notable milestone upon securing 2nd Runner-up in Vision Board Competition 2025 against nine university teams from different countries. The competition was held in conjunction with the 6th International Disability Inclusion Symposium (IDIS) on December 12–13, 2025.
The fully online symposium, hosted from Tokyo, Japan, convened higher education institutions, experts, and advocates from ASEAN and Pacific Region countries to share knowledge and advance practices on disability inclusion in higher education and career settings.
The event was organized by the ASEAN University Network–Disability and Public Policy Network (AUN-DPPnet) in partnership with the University of Tokyo, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, and the University of Malaya.
Representing the university were Dr. Jayson N. Gillesania, Student Welfare Director; Aljim G. Millamena, RN, LPT, Nurse II; Jan Ronhel F. Encarnacion, Instructor; and students Cydee Cris B. Gregorio (Bachelor of Secondary Education), Wilhelm D. Cerna (Bachelor of Industrial Technology), and Miles Preston E. Apostol (Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, Open Learning)
