UA strengthens linkage to Korea

True to its goal of opening more opportunities to students, University of Antique team headed by Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr., University President, visited Daegu University in Gyeongsan City, South Korea to expand its linkages and benchmark on the best practices of education in the country, November 14-22, 2022.

The trip entitled “UA-Daegu Collaborative Meeting on International Programs and Partnership 2022,” enable the University delegation to explore other areas of collaboration such as cybersecurity, international student service training and exchanges, science and technology, research and innovation, culture, inclusive education, language and capacity building for students, as well as capacitate special education specialist and visiting professors mobility for both Universities.

According to Dr. Crespo, the collaborations benefit the University a lot saying, “We have actually some projects initiated by our partners and we become more aware of the prospects of the delivery of education in Korea.”

Together with Dr. Crespo, UA sent six faculty and one student to compose the delegation namely: Prof. Jennelyn Omadio, International Affairs Office Director, Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. May T. Delgado, Vice-President for Research, Extension, and Continuing Education Training Services, Dr. Runato Basañes, Dean of College of Teacher Education, Prof. Christpeter Omayana, Faculty, Early Childhood Education, Prof. Mary Germaine Tagnong, Faculty, Early Childhood Education, and Gianne Esther E. Villanueva, Bachelor of Special Needs Education student, who were also given the chance to visit Sejong University in Seoul. They were joined by Ms. Jenni Montero, Regional Manager of Camosun College Victoria, BC, Canada.

The institution is indeed committed to expanding its international network as the universities look forward to the prospect of faculty and student exchange./IAP
